Wat Saragoew

Wat Saragoew is probably the largest orphanage we have ever come across. It is home to over 1,400 children, aged from 3 - 18 year olds. Wat Saragoew was the first orphanage we were introduced to, back in January 2005. We were told of their continuing need for donations of food and that the cost for a basic lunch of rice and pork is approximately 25,000 Bahts (approx £420 – equivalent to 60 Bhats to the pound). Both founders (Dr. Khanungnit and Roger) decided to spend their holiday by visiting these children, not only to provide lunch but also added a little treat of ice cream, something that is rare to them - yet we take for granted.

They were so moved by the children, that they had no hesitation on making a commitment to help them - the wheels in motion of forming “Little Siam Trust” .

Each year Little Siam Trust returns to offer the children a ‘Party’ of yummy and nutritious meals (with ice cream, of course) and a visit from a Santa bearing gifts.
